Sunday, October 6 – Left San Gimignano around 9:00 to drop the car off in Florence. Unfortunately, the road to drop the car off was one way in the wrong direction. It was a bit hairy if finding the place but we did. Dropped the car off and walked to the train station to catch a 12:38pm train from Florence to Naples, about 3 hours.

Arrive Naples Pier and take the hydrofoil across the Bay of Naples, rough seas, to Capri. We were met at the pier in Capri by the hotel shuttle. Before we left the pier, the driver pointed up to our hotel built on the side of the mountain, way up. We stayed at the Caesar Augustus, a very nice resort. Took sunset pictures and then dinner.

Monday, October 7– The resort is actually in the town on Ana Capri, meaning above Capri. The views are definitely outstanding. Today was spent browsing the town and took a sky ride to the top of the island of Capri. Even more spectacular views here but some clouds were at the top. Back at the hotel, it was the first day warm enough to hit the pool. Having drinks on the balcony, we met our resort neighbors who were from Pittsburgh. After talking a while we decided to head into town and have dinner together. It was a pleasant night.

Tuesday, October 8 – It was a day to sleep in a bit. We took a local bus to the town of Capri. There were many shops, very expensive designer stuff. Rest of the day was spent in Ana Capri. Time to pack for the last leg of the trip.
